9th Karmapa Eliminating Darkness of Ignorance (PDF)

This book by the 9th Karmapa is a classic text describing how to do Mahamudra meditation. Mahamudra is the basic meditation of the Kagyu Lineage and can be practiced anywhere because it does not require a particular place or time or implements to do this practice. We can do Maha-mudra when we are driving or walking to work, while we are eating and interacting with others, at parties and so on.

Mahamudra is basically a meditation in which we are examining our mind while maintaining mindfulness. The mind is vast and Mahamudra is a set of practices that allow us to dig deeper in our mind.

Thrangu Rinpoche has published a number of books on Mahamudra and has referred to this book at times.
