In the summer of 1994, Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche presented a third seminar on Mahâmudra: The Ocean of True Meaning, explicating to the Shambhala sangha the third and concluding section of Karmapa Wangchuk Dore's work. This seminar took place at Karmê Chöling during the month of August. In a series of lectures over the course of two weeks, Khenpo Rinpoche explained to an audience of sadhakas the methods that have come down through the lineage for enhancing the practice of mahmudra. During this seminar, Elizabeth Callahan and Jim Scott served as Khenpo Rinpoche's primary translators, with Jules Levinson and Michele Martin assisting for part of the final question-and-answer session. Subsequently, the translators listened to the taped record of Khenpo Rinpoche's commentary and crafted a translation both of the text and of Rinpoche's commentary. We are thankful to the many volunteers who helped with transcribing the original spontaneous translations. The editorial work was done by Mark Nowakowski, Larry Mermelstein, Judith Smith, and Scott Wellenbach, assisted by Laura Kaufman. We are pleased to be able to offer the fruit of their labors to you.
