Manjushri is the deity associated with Wisdom. In most Kagyu Monasteries this prayer is recited before doing any intellectual activity.

He holds a sword in his right hand to cut through any misconceptions and in his left hand a lotus flower holding a book of the Prajnaparamita for describing the true nature of reality.
