Tilopa who founded the Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism had one primary pupil, Naropa. Naropa was a great scholar at Nalanda University and he left his prestigious post to wander in the forests of India looking for his guru Tilopa by enduring great hardship and finally was able to meet Tilopa and receive extraordinary spiritual practices from him including the the Mahamudra teachings and the Six Dharmas of Naropa.

This book is the second in a series (the first being Tilopa’s Wisdom) of three books on the life of the early lineage holders. Thrangu Rinpoche tells the life of Naropa, his trials and his profound lessons. He then follows with two lucid and practical commentaries on two of Naropa’s songs of realization, explaining how to develop Mahamudra and realize the nature of the mind. 

This book is 211 pages with complete notes, glossary, glossary of Tibetan terms, appendices, and index.
