The Uttaratantra (Supreme Continuum) Book

In the fourth century CE Asanga, a practitioner who did a 12-year Maitreya retreat and he was able to meet the Maitreya Buddha directly and receive this particular text. This book lays the foundation for understanding Buddha Nature which is the essence that pervades all sentient beings and that allows them to reach enlightenment. Thrangu Rinpoche considers the study of Buddha nature to be important and there he gave an extensive teaching on this text which includes the a translation of the root text.

This book of 283 pages contains a translation of the original 404 root verses and Thrangu Rinpoche's verse by verse commentary on this text. The Uttaratantra Shastra often translated as the Supreme Continuum is the foundation for the Shentong view of reality.
