Green Tara (Free Picture Download)

Tara is one of the most popular female deities. She  is connected closely to protection from violence, unjust incarceration, dangerous animals and so on. Tara came originally from India and is still practiced there. It came to Tibet and actually has 21 forms with each with a different color, family, and type of protection.

The Practice of Green Tara is often said every morning in some Tibetan monasteries and a few western centers. The other most famous Tara is White Tara who helps protect the practitioner and also is connected to long life.
